Equipment and program

Movement inc is one of the best equipped strength and conditioning facilities in India. You can find barbells, trapbars, dumbbells, squat racks, lever squat, glute hams among sixty-two hand-crafted pieces of equipment designed in-house in Madras.

The program is designed for everyone, age no-bar, from folks who have never set foot in a gym or touched a weight through to experienced trainees who have lifting experience.

Location

Our facility is located next to the sea in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. It’s naturally ventilated and naturally lit (during the day). You can find us on Google Maps.

Batch timings

Our training facility isn’t open all day.

We are open for what we call peak demand hours. Much like pubs and restaurants, we are open for business for a few hours in the morning, and a couple of hours in the evening. We choose to not to remain open all-day.

Training sessions are an hour long. Our current batches are at the following times (IST):

How a training session works

Every hour has 2-3 coaches and a plan. How each client uses the plan changes from person to person based on their strength and skill level.

No one works in our gym unsupervised. For many reasons including safety, our love of equipment and ensuring people get work done well, we choose to not have unsupervised sessions in our gym.

Initial sessions

During your initial training session, a coach gets a sense of how you move, understands your constraints and context and teaches you how to perform certain exercises safely and effectively. They walk you through how our sessions work and what to expect.

Your initial sessions at Movement inc are spent with the coach guiding you through the basic lifts and how to pace your training hour. Exercises are tailored down to your capacity/constraints. You become familiar with the many training tools at your disposal at the gym.

Levelling up

As you become more comfortable with your training environment, coaches and training community, you begin to train harder, learn more difficult moves and progress on basic patterns such as squats, pushes, pulls and hinges.

Monthly fee

If you choose to sign up, the fee is ₹7,250 per month. We do not offer longer memberships.
